️⃣ Set small goals that are realistic and attainable, but also a challenge! They don’t have to be weight related. Incorporate athletic related goals to help monitor your progress as well (i.e. jog for 10 minutes straight, perform 10 push ups, do a pull up unassisted...)
️⃣ Set yourself your for success! Schedule your workouts as if they were Dr. appts. Plan ahead if you need to pack a gym bag for after work, or set out your clothes the evening before if you’ll be going early morning.
️⃣ Prioritize Consistency ➡️ “Just do it” .... unless you are ill or excessively sore (which then may be a good time for stretching or active recovery) don’t give yourself the opportunity to talk yourself out of it. Be consistent, even when you “don’t feel like it”, get it done!
️⃣ Choose a time you will actually go! You may have more energy during a specific time of day, maybe you have other obligations, children, work schedule to work around... pick a time where you will make it work!
️⃣ Ask for help/invest in a trainer - Don’t be afraid to hit the weights. You will see great changes in your body composition and strength with resistance training. When starting out it can feel intimidating, reach out for some guidance or hire a trainer to help get you started!
️⃣ Get a workout buddy/Find a community ➡️ You will become like those you surround yourself with
️⃣ Exercise not only for the physical benefits, how you look, but because it will boost your mood, energy, help improve your memory, can reduce the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes and more!!
️⃣ “You do you!” Everyone had a beginning! Don’t compare yours to where someone else is. Focus on and celebrate your personal progress along the way!
️⃣ Focus on your nutrition π₯ You can’t outwork a poor nutrition plan. Avoid justifying food unhealthy choices because you worked out, especially if weight loss is your goal.
π Remember results won’t happen overnight! Focus on sound nutrition, exercise and healthy lifestyle habits!
Time + Consistency = Success
